AbstractABSTRACT

Public street lighting (PJU) is a facility that is used to illuminate the street at night. However, because the
number of PJU lights available is very large, it has an impact on the government budget. This can be overcome
by utilizing solar power to reduce the operating costs of electricity for PJU lamp. However, solar powered PJU
lights still have disadvantages, namely that they require uneasy maintenance such as cleaning panels that must
be done regularly so that the sunlight they receive is not blocked by dust or other impurities. When viewed from
climatic conditions and road conditions in Indonesia, of course, solar powered PJU maintenance costs a lot of
money for human resources and equipment needs. From this thought, energy efficient street lighting was created
using LED lamps and light sensors. PJU with this light sensor turns on automatically based on the light or
darkness of the surrounding conditions. This public street light will also be connected to the telegram
application on a smartphone which functions to notify when the light is on or off. The results of this tool are
expected to produce street lights that are able to turn on automatically according to the light conditions in the
surrounding area, and can monitor and control remotely via the telegram application so that practicality and
ease of use can be felt.
