| Abstract | ABSTRACT Diabetes is a disease characterized by high blood sugar levels caused by reduced insulin production or the ineffectiveness of insulin produced against blood sugar levels. Quite a lot of people in Indonesia have diabetes, and most people in Indonesia know they have diabetes before it's too late. According to IDF (International Diabetes Federation) data, diabetes was the seventh most common sufferer in the world in 2015. The existing problems trigger the application of informatics in the medical field, such as expert systems. The expert system itself is a computer science, which can function like an expert or doctor by using medical books and the knowledge of experts or doctors. The expert system application will use the direct link method to diagnose diabetes based on the symptoms felt by the user and based on the existing knowledge in the expert system. By applying the forward link method, the method of reading facts and then applying it to the applicable rules to conclude that the system will read the symptoms people complain about to find out what type of diabetes they have. |
