AbstractABSTRACT

Majoring is one of the process of placement of students in accordance with the competencies held in the selection of learning programs at the level of Senior High School (SMA).In the determination of the majors should not only based on academic value alone, but majors must also be in accordance with the skills, abilities and talents and interests in a particular department, so that students will be able to develop in accordance with the talent and interests. The school should be able to determine the appropriate selection of majors for students according to the criteria in the determination of the department, because most students tend to follow his friend in choosing the department, this will result in the occurrence of errors and incompatibility in taking the majors. In order for these problems do not occur then need to be made Decision Support System Selection of High School majors that can support the selection of the majors. Determination of the department with Decision Support System Selection of High School majors will facilitate and accelerate the process of majors so that the process of penjurusan will be more effective because it is determined based on decision support system method.The method will simulate a student's match against a major.TOPSIS is one of the methods in decision support system. This method will calculate the criteria specified in the selection of majors, then the final result of the calculation of these criteria will result in a decision.
