AbstractA boarding house is a residence that is rented out with certain facilities at an affordable price. For overseas students,
boarding is a mandatory requirement. In choosing a boarding house, many criteria are chosen, for example the
price of boarding house rent, boarding location, boarding facilities, and boarding security. With the many criteria
and choices of boarding houses, it is difficult for students to determine a boarding house, therefore making a
decision support system is expected to make it easier for students to choose a boarding house.This study uses the
TOPSIS (Technique Order Preference by Similarity To Ideal Solution) method. The system created will be webbased so that visitors will easily access it. The final result of this research is to produce a decision support system
for choosing a boarding house around the university of Semarang using the TOPSIS method using environmental
criteria, rental prices, facilities, references, location, security, and comfort by using 11 alternative boarding houses
around the University of Semarang with a radius of 2500 meters. With this system, it can make it easier for students
to choose a boarding house around the University of Semarang
