AbstractABSTRACT

The 2013 curriculum requires the selection of specialization to be carried out or decided by prospective students at high school level one. If the student interests, talents, abilities are apparently inappropriate, problems can occur in the future such as a drop in enthusiasm for learning or a decline in student achievement. BK teachers are required to help prospective students in choosing specialization in the form of providing information and counseling upon admission of new students. Therefore a decision support system can be developed so that it can be used by prospective students in deciding which specialization will be taken. AHP method is a decision support system method that can give weight to students' specialization criteria and test their consistency. In this study the AHP method is used to give weight to each specialization criteria namely academic value, students 'interests, and students' talents. The result of this study aims to develop a Decision Support System (SPK) that can help prospective students make it easier in the process of choosing specialization (majors) in high school by providing specialization recommendations according to the data provided. Decision support system is a system that supports users in making decisions for semi-structured problems with the aim as a tool to expand capabilities in decision making.With this system, it is expected to help prospective students determine specialization at the time of admission of new students at 1 Karangtengah Demak High School.
