Abstract

This research aims to design and build an Internet of Things (IoT)-based automatic bird feeding system with notification integration via Telegram. This system uses NodeMCU ESP32 as the main microcontroller, NTP Server GMT for time synchronization, Servo MG996R for feeding mechanism, HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor to read feed height, and 16X2 I2C LCD for information display. The research method includes system design with Research and Development approach, direct observation, and literature study. The system improves feeding efficiency and provides easy control and notification via Telegram. The results show that the system can manage the feeding automatically with high accuracy. The ultrasonic sensor successfully detects the height of the feed with a range from 2 cm to 7 cm, which triggers the telegram bot to send a feed-out notification to the user. The telegram notification works well, sending real-time updates on the feed status.
