AbstractAlong with the rapid development of today's technology, technology plays a very important role in the advancement of human life. Technology can also be applied in agriculture, especially rice fields so that the harvest can be optimal, the soil moisture from the rice fields should be kept in their coolness. If the soil moisture is not as required, it will inhibit the growth of crops in the rice field. Also, most farmers still use the manual way to irrigation time and only see from the condition of the plant. From that thought, the author took the title of the Model of development of the Internet-based Automated irrigation tool (IoT). In this research, the main components used are NodeMCU microcontroller Esp8266 and soil moisture sensor soil Moisture. This tool is later equipped with a mini water pump that serves to drain the water to control the soil moisture, in addition, it will also be connected to the Smartphone via Wi-Fi that will display information about the moisture in the rice field. The purpose of the manufacture of this tool is expected to help farmers solve a small part of the problem found in rice fields such as dry soil moisture may result in plant growth is not maximal. With this tool, it can facilitate the user to control soil moisture through a Smartphone without having to spend time and energy or interfere with the daily routine.
